Our Doctors
Dr. Arun K. Gupta
He is board-certified in Internal Medicine and has been practicing for 20+ years in Manassas and Fairfax area. Dr.Gupta did his residency through Brown and Boston University Hospital system. Dr. Gupta was recognized as One of the Top Local Doctors in 2010 by The Washington Metropolitan Magazine.
Dr. Gupta’s practice is mainly in office along with Assistant Livings, Elder Homes, Dementia Units, Nursing homes, and home visits. Dr. Gupta’s main concentration is in preventive care, men’s health and Geriatric along with chronic diseases such as diabetes, mellitus, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, COPD, and Osteoporosis.
Outside of work he enjoys hiking, golf and travelling to new places.
Our Physician Assistant
Karen Olmo
Karen Olmo, MPA, PA-C, is a nationally certified physician assistant who has specialized in primary care/geriatrics and pain management. She is currently working as a primary care provider with Shimla Medical Center. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, and then earned her MPA at Eastern Virginia Medical School, also located in Norfolk. She has 20+ years of experience as a medic and cardiovascular technologist in the U.S. Army. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening and spending time with her family. Karen is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
Rumee Gyawali
Rumee Gyawali MHS PA-C is a board certified physician assistant who graduated with a Master’s of Science from the University of Maryland Baltimore. Rumee attended the University of Pittsburgh and graduated cum laude with a Bachelors of Science in 2019.
Prior to PA-School, Rumee gained valuable experiences working as a medical scribe and certified nursing assistant. Her healthcare background is in hematology/oncology, cardiology, and emergency medicine. Rumee has a passion for preventative medicine through patient education and patient autonomy. Her work in diverse medical fields has cultivated her compassionate approach to patient care.
Rumee was born in Nepal and is trained as a medical interpreter in Nepali. Currently, she is taking a course in medical Spanish and hopes to help Spanish speaking patients in her community.
Aside from work, Rumee lives with her husband Alex and their two cats in Herndon VA. In her free time, she enjoys painting, cooking, and exercising.
Nurse Practitioner’s
Surya Kathirvelu
Surya Kathirvelu is a family nurse practitioner graduated from Marymount University and board certified with AANP.
Prior to her new role, Surya worked as a registered nurse in PCU, trauma, IMC,ICU at Medstar WHC and Reston Hospital Center. Her clinical areas of interest include cardiology, women’s health and preventive care.
Outside the office, Surya enjoys spending time with friends and family, working out, and cooking
Shradha Pandey
Shradha Pandey is a board certified family nurse practitioner. She joined SMC in 2018 and has been practicing since 2017. She believes in patient centered care. She has a particular interest on health promotion and prevention. Outside of work, Shradha enjoys spending time with husband and daughter, traveling, cooking, seeking new food experiences, gardening, and hiking.
